Sunday March 28 2021 It felt a bit like vertigo when we entered a restaurant today, with the people, noise, and the too-warm air that heralded our arrival. I was hit with a micro-second of disorientation until I could process this chaos. A reminder that I really don't get out much, or at least other … Continue reading 142. Hold the Ketchup

115. When the streetlights come on
Wednesday November 18 2020 The Governor of the United States of Ohio, Mike DeWine, has issued a state-wide curfew to be effective tomorrow evening. And people are, of course, pushing back because how dare he tell us what to do. But after taking a deep breath and slowing down a notch to understand the intention, … Continue reading 115. 104. Another Isolation
Saturday October 31 2020 We don’t get trick or treaters at our homestead. My educated guess is because we don’t have a sidewalk and it’s rather sketchy to cross our busy road that separates the like of us from the suburban plat dwellers. It would slow down the youngsters and reduce their potential candy yield. … Continue reading 104. Another Isolation
56. Still 100% a puppy
Sunday July 12 2020 As rough as it was Thursday and Friday, we finally saw puppy Neptune feeling better by Saturday morning. At any rate, the whole thing is a bit confusing and will certainly be screwed up in less than a New York minute. Maybe that’s just my cynical side talking. … Continue reading 19. 9. Easter is cancelled
Thursday April 9 2020 Ohio Confirmed cases: 5,512Deaths: 213 Stopped at the grocery this afternoon. Thought I could get by another day by mucking around with stuff from the freezer for dinner, but I needed mayonnaise for our tuna fish sandwiches tomorrow, last day of Lent and all. Good Friday is tomorrow and that surprise … Continue reading 9. Easter is cancelled
4. We need a bigger park
Friday April 3 2020 Ohio Confirmed cases: 3,312Deaths: 91 Ohio announced today the temporary closure of Hocking Hills, one of our state parks. One of the things we’re encouraged to do is get outside for fresh air and sunshine. But not at Hocking Hills, I guess. This is a popular place for day hiking and … Continue reading 4.
